The first Passover
Exodus 12:1-14
12:1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying:
12:2 ’This month shall be unto you the beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.
12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying: In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers’houses, a lamb for a household;
12:4 and if the household be too little for a lamb, then shall he and his neighbour next unto his house take one according to the number of the souls; according to every man’s eating ye shall make your count for the lamb.

Still in Egypt, the Israelites get instructions for one very specific night. A lot of what happens at a seder today echoes this chapter.

Exodus 13:3-8
13:3 And Moses said unto the people: ‘Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place; there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
13:4 This day ye go forth in the month Abib.
13:5 And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which He swore unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
13:6 Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.

Passover is built around telling the story, especially to kids. This is one of the verses that makes that a mitzvah, and it's written in the first person.
